Today’s busy life presents numerous challenges, not to mention having to fit several tasks into an already tight schedule. Well, everyone has days when they’re feeling all psyched up and energetic, but there are also days when a much-needed pick-me-up will work wonders.
Most people depend on coffee and overly sweet energy drinks to give them the boost they need to get through a hectic day.
There is no shortage of sugary energy drinks and coffee out there. And this is where Advocare Spark comes in. It’s a sugar-free energy drink that delivers not only a powerful kick of caffeine but also contains other potentially beneficial ingredients including minerals, vitamins, amino acids, among others.
Be sure to take a look at my It Works review as well which is similar to AdvoCare Spark.
What is Advocare Spark?
AdvoCare International L.P., the company behind AdvoCare Spark, was founded in 1993. The American company sells approximately 90 products which include nutritional supplements, sports nutrition, energy and weight management dietary supplements.
Unlike many products used to boost energy levels, Advocare Spark is completely sugar-free and very low in calories, with only four grams of carbohydrates. It comes in a broad range of flavors: fruit punch, watermelon, pink lemonade, green apple, mandarin orange, mango strawberry, and grape.
Caffeine boosts your energy levels by stimulating the central nervous system. It does this by increasing norepinephrine excretion and raising brain function as well as blood pressure and heart rate. Overall, this increases temporary energy levels. Each serving of Advocare sark contains about 120mg of caffeine, higher than what you would get from your standard cup of coffee. Caffeine has also been shown to speed up metabolism, increase focus and even boost athletic performance.
However, caffeine can also cause agitation, nervousness and disrupt sleeping cycles, so you should avoid taking Advocare Spark too close to bedtime. The product should also be used with caution for people sensitive to the effects of caffeine.
Taurine is a naturally-occurring amino acid found in the body. research studies suggest that Taurine can improve reaction time, increase mental alertness, concentration and memory. This ingredient is also found in most dairy products, lamb, dark chicken meat, beef, krill, seaweed and brewer’s yeast.
B-complex vitamins help your body convert food into energy, form red blood cells and play a crucial role in certain bodily functions. They are also needed for the health of muscles, the brain and nervous system as well as critical for the growth, development and functions of cells in the body.
This is another naturally occurring amino acid used in the production of dopamine and noradrenaline. According to research studies, L-tyrosine is good for improving memory and reducing stress levels. This ingredient may also help to reduce the jitters and anxiety caused by a large dose of caffeine.
Choline is an essential macronutrient that plays many essential roles in the body. It’s mainly used for manufacturing acetylcholine, a critical neurotransmitter that helps to sharpen mental function and sustains the nervous system.
GABA (gamma-amino butyric acid)
GABA plays an important role in neurological development by helping to forge new-cell-to-cell connections in the developing brain. However, research also suggests it has a calming effect, which seems odd for an energy drink, but can help in reducing stress and anxiety, consequently improving productivity, memory and mental focus.

How to use Advocare Spark
There is no specific dosage for Advocare Spark, so you can use it as and when needed. For some, it’s an early morning thing, for others, it’s an extra boost of energy to avoid succumbing to the all so familiar afternoon drowsiness. Each energy boost is quickly noticeable after around 20 minutes and lasts for several hours.
However, it’s advisable to take up to no more than four servings per day. Advocare Spark is designed to mix easily with water, typically mix it with about 8 ounces of water. You may need a fork or spoon to stir the powder until it fully mixes with the water and gets rid of lumps, if any. Alternatively, feel free to use a blender, shaker cup or electric whisk designed for making protein shakes.
Advocare Spark is best for use as an occasional energy booster rather than a nutritional mainstay. It should not be used by kids. Nor is it suitable for people with heart problems, hypertension or sensitivity to the effect of large doses of caffeine.
